About Deepanraj Maraimani
Art, for me, is not just expression, it is a responsibility to bring beauty, meaning, and emotion into the world.
I am Deepan Raj Maraimani, a Chennai-based professional artist working across oil, acrylic, and watercolor. What began as a natural inclination towards drawing during my school years has evolved into a lifelong pursuit of artistic excellence and purpose.
Over the years, my work has been recognized with 9 National Level Gold Medals and 14 prestigious national awards, including the Konaseema Chitrakala Parishad Award, Young Artist Award, Wonder Artist Award, India’s Young Achiever Award, and Artist of Valentines Select. I have also been nominated twice for the Shilp Guru recognition and once for Tamil Nadu’s Chinna Kalaivaanar Award.
My journey is built on discipline and consistency. I have participated in over 836 art competitions across zonal, district, state, national, and international levels, securing 611 first-place wins. These experiences have shaped not only my technique, but also my understanding of art as a powerful medium of connection.

Artistic Approach
I do not confine myself to a single style or subject.
From landscapes to portraiture, realism to expressive compositions, my work is driven by exploration. Every painting is an attempt to capture emotion, depth, and a story that words cannot fully convey.
Art, to me, is something that should be felt. It should evoke calm, curiosity, nostalgia, or even challenge the viewer’s perspective.

Beyond the Canvas
My work extends beyond creating art.
I have traveled across India to connect with visually impaired artists, understanding how they perceive and create. I have personally trained and supported them, and in my exhibitions, I present their works alongside mine. This is to offer a different perspective, to show that vision is not limited to sight, and that creativity exists in its purest form beyond physical boundaries.

Teaching and Mentorship
I believe art should be shared and passed on.
I teach painting to students of all age groups, from young learners to adults who wish to reconnect with their creative side. My focus is on traditional techniques, ensuring strong fundamentals while allowing each individual to develop their own artistic voice.
Beyond Art
Alongside my journey as an artist, I am also the Founder and CEO of Scroll Wide, a company focused on branding, web development, and digital marketing.
I have also been working as a freelance designer for over a decade through Designer Deepan, where I specialize in logo design, UI and UX design, and packaging design. This parallel journey in design has influenced my artistic perspective, bringing structure, clarity, and modern thinking into my work.
